Even if you don’t dive, Fiji’s beautiful underwater environs are not to be missed. Snorkeling is just as effective in viewing beautiful coral, reef fish, turtles and the multitude of marine creatures that call Fiji’s waters home. Snorkeling is relatively easy, even for first timers. The trick is to relax, breathe normally and float instead of swimming. To see if a mask fits, try putting it over your eyes and nose and breathe through your nose – the mask should stick to your face without being too tight.
Take a deep breath and hold it if you are diving deep. To remove the water in your snorkel when you come to the surface, blow hard. One thing to be extra careful about is wearing plenty of sunscreen all over you body especially the back of your neck and legs to avoid being sun burnt.
